Just to be clear, this trip to the US is not fun and games. This is not a trip to just to visit teammates or friends or family. This is not a trip to sign autographs or make an appearance at a public event.

This is Ali Krieger’s opportunity to show the results of the work she’s done. This is Ali Krieger doing everything in her power to have a chance at the Olympics. This is Ali Krieger not giving up. THIS is determination.

Faith is a funny thing. Either you have it or you don’t. And you can’t always explain why you do or you don’t. And you usually can’t convince others to have it.

What I can tell you is, in spite of the so-called odds, I have faith in Ali making this team. I believe that her positivity, dedication and hard work are going to pay off - maybe in part because I know those traits actually do pay off in life.
